The Science Times One-Cuts

The Science Times One-Cuts (2001-2008) a series of 56 works on paper, 6"x 9".  Catalog available.

'One-cuts' describes Liotta's collage technique where she cuts and lifts a piece out whole from the daily newspaper, excised as-is, with texts as attached to an image--sometimes just one line, other times a line on either side of the image. This is her first series of 'one-cuts' from the early 00's. The Science Times One-Cuts project is an interaction with the discoverable cosmic landscape received as both news and poetry, made from The New York Times/ Science Times editions as they were publishing the Hubble images and other satellite imagery in the turn -of- the -century era in space data visualization.
